For the pain in your first few steps out of bed.
Plantar fasciitis and fallen arches respond to a combination of things — arch support, calf and fascia stretching, and backing off the load that irritated it in the first place. These sleeves handle one part of that: they compress the arch and heel so the fascia carries a little less strain while you get on with the rest.
They are not a cure, and anyone selling you a single product as a cure for plantar fasciitis is overselling it. What they are is cheap, unobtrusive support you can wear all day.
How to use them
- Wear them from the moment you get up — the first steps of the morning are usually the worst, and support helps most then.
- Open-toe design means they go under a normal sock, inside shoes, or on their own around the house.
- Pair them with calf stretches and a tennis ball roll under the arch. That combination does more than any one of them alone.
If the pain is getting worse rather than better
See a physio or a podiatrist. Heel pain that keeps escalating over weeks is worth having someone actually look at, and a $29 sleeve is not a substitute for that.
